Thomas and Goodrich of Men's Lacrosse Earn CACC Weekly Awards
Thomas was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week for a second time while Goodrich was named the CACC Rookie of the Week.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – After leading the University of Bridgeport's men's lacrosse team to a dominant win over Dominican on Saturday, Ryan Thomas and James Goodrich were each recognized by the CACC on Monday.
Thomas was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week for a third time while Goodrich was named the CACC Rookie of the Week.
Thomas led UB's defensive efforts during their 16-3 win over the Chargers on Saturday. The sophomore piled up a game-high seven caused turnovers while UB allowed just three total goals. Thomas is currently leading the CACC in caused turnovers this season at 31.
On the offensive side of things, Goodrich served as UB's top scorer versus Dominican. The Long Island native tallied a season-high four goals to go along with four ground balls. Saturday's total puts him at 22 points (14G, 8A) in his rookie campaign, in addition to 23 ground balls.
Thomas, Goodrich, and the rest of the Bridgeport men's lacrosse team will wrap up their regular season at Chestnut Hill on Wednesday night.
