Bridgeport, Conn.-The visiting Chestnut Hill College Griffins remained unbeaten in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at 4-0 (8-2 overall) with a 16-5 win over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Saturday afternoon at Knights Field. UB is now 1-9 overall and 0-4 in the CACC in its first season of play.
CHC jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back on the way to the win.
Sophomore Noah Beard (Mint Hill, N.C.) led the UB offense on Saturday with three goals.
James Napoli (Fr. Wantagh, N.Y.) and Dewey Schoenfelder (Jr., Mt. Airy, Md.) netted single goals for the Purple Knights.
Goalkeeper Peter Nazario (So., Farmingdale, N.Y.) made eight saves on the day in the Bridgeport net.
Up next, the UB men's lacrosse will continue its three-game homestand to close out its inaugural season next Saturday at 3:00 p.m. when the Purple Knights host Georgian Court University.
