Three UB Student-Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors For Men's Basketball
Taj Chiles, Ryo Kobayashi And Mason Williams Star In the Classroom And On The Court
Bridgeport, Conn.-Three members of the University of Bridgeport men's basketball program have earned spots on the 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators (formally known as CoSIDA).
Selected to this season's Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team from UB are:
Taj Chiles (So., Harlem, N.Y.)- Business Administration major
Ryo Kobayashi (Jr., Kanagawa, Japan.)-Business Administration major
Mason Williams (Sr., Voorhees, N.J.)-Psychology major)
The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be nominated as a CSC Academic All-District® selection, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve (having seen action in at least half of his or her team's contests) with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution and be at least a sophomore academically.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, Second- and Third-Team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in March.
