Malcolm Moye Scores A Career High 44 Points But UB Men's Hoops Falls To St. Thomas Aquinas
Purple Knights Are Right Back In Action On Thursday At Home Hosting Queens At 5:00 PM
Bridgeport, Conn.-Junior Malcolm Moye (Hartford, Conn.) had a dominant offensive performance on Wednesday night, as he scored a career-high 44 points, connecting on 15-of 20 field goals, including hitting six three-point shots plus going 8-of-10 from the foul line for the University of Bridgeport men's basketball team, but the visiting St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans tuned 23 Purple Knights turnovers into 35 points, as STAC posted a high-scoring 109-92 East Coast Conference win in Hubbell Gym. UB is now 7-11 overall and 4-5 in the ECC. STAC ups its season mark to 14-4 overall and 7-1 in conference action.
As a team, the Spartans were red-hot from the floor all night long, as they shot 57.7 percent, hitting 45-of-78 shots on the night.
Junior Mason Williams (Philadelphia, Pa.) joined Moye in double figures for UB with 15 points.
Graduate student Nemanja Zubac (Becka Palanka, Serbia) led Bridgeport on the boards grabbing six rebounds.
Elijah Bovell led a balanced St. Thomas Aquinas scoring attack, that saw six players reach double figures, with 19 points.
The UB men's basketball team is right back in action in less than 24 hours, as the Purple Knights host Queens (N.Y.) College at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening in a make-up of this past Sunday's postponed East Coast Conference contest.
