Rockville Centre, N.Y.-It was a tough trip to Long Island on Wednesday night for the University of Bridgeport men's basketball team, as the host Molloy College Lions led from wire-to-wire on their way to an 83-63 East Coast Conference victory over the Purple Knights. Bridgeport is now 7-10 overall and an even 4-4 in conference play. The Lions are now 4-11 overall and 3-3 in the ECC.
Sophomore Tim Dawson (New Haven, Conn.) led UB in both scoring and rebounding on Wednesday, as he was the only Purple Knight to reach double figures with 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Molloy's William Muller led all scorers on the night with a career-high 31 points.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team will look to get back in the win column when the team returns to Hubbell Gym on Sunday afternoon, as the Purple Knights host Queens (N.Y.) College in an East Coast Conference contest slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
