Waltham, Mass.-The host Bentley University Falcons connected on 17 three-point shots and shot 53.9 percent from the floor, as they defeated the visiting University of Bridgeport Purple Knights, 111-72, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon. UB is now 2-6 on the season, and Bentley ups its season mark to 5-1.
Tim Dawson (So., New Haven, Conn.) and Mason Williams (Jr., Philadelphia, Pa.) led Bridgeport in scoring on Saturday, as they each netted 12 points. UB sophomore D'Andre Collins (Newark, N.J.) also reached double figures scoring a season-best 11 points.
Nemanja Zubac (Grad., Becka Palanka, Serbia) led Bridgeport in rebounding with five boards in the game.
Zach Laput and Jordan Mello-Klein led five Bentley players in double-digit scoring, as they each had 21 points.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team continues its four-game road trip on Friday evening when the Purple Knights open a weekend trip to Western New York, as Bridgeport opens East Coast Conference play at D'Youville College. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m.
