Devon Elliott Ties Career-High With 32 Points In Men's Basketball's 79-75 Win At Mercy
Purple Knights Head Into ECC Championship Tournament As The Five Seed And Will Play At LIU Post On Wednesday Night
Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.-Senior Devon Elliott (Brooklyn, N.Y.) tied his career-high with 32 points on Saturday afternoon to help the University of Bridgeport men's basketball team a 79-75 road win over the host Mercy College in the 2015-16 regular season finale for both teams on Saturday afternoon. Bridgeport is now 15-13 overall and 12-8 in East Coast Conference play. Mercy falls to 12-14 overall and 9-1 in the ECC. Elliott also had six assists on Saturday.
Both UB and Mercy move on to next week's 2016 East Coast Conference Men's Basketball Championship Tournament. The three-time defending ECC Champion Purple Knights, who are the number five seed in the tournament, will travel to number four seed LIU Post on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m., and Mercy, the number six seed, will travel to the third-seeded, University of the District of Columbia that same evening.
Elliott was joined in double figures on Saturday by classmates Ernest Rouse (Freeport, N.Y.) and Jesse Jones (Irvington, N.J.) netted 11 points off the Bridgeport bench.
Jason Quijada led Mercy with 24 points.
