Bridgeport, Conn.- The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday night in the Purple Knights regular season home finale, as UB fell to the visiting St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans, 68-52. Bridgeport is now 14-13 overall and 11-8 in the East Coast Conference. St. Thomas Aquinas has now won 17 games in a row, the Spartans are now 23-4 overall and 17-2 in the ECC.
Senior Devon Elliott (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Purple Knights in scoring with 14 points, and he added seven rebounds, six steals and one blocked shot on the night. Elliott was joined in double figures by classmate Muhammed Ahmed (Bronx, N.Y.) with 12 points.
STAC's Justin Reyes led all scorers on the night with 17 points.
The Bridgeport men's basketball team close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon at Mercy College in an important game for conference tournament seeding. Tip time is set for 2:30 p.m. in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
