Oakdale, N.Y.-It was a tough night on the road for the University of Bridgeport men's basketball team on Tuesday evening, as the host Dowling College Golden Lions jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead and never looked back posting a 79-65 East Coast Conference win over the visiting Purple Knights. UB is now 12-11 overall and 9-6 in the ECC. Dowling raises its overall record to 11-12, and the Golden Lions are now 7-9 in conference action.
Senior Ernest Rouse (Freeport, N.Y.) and junior Stefano Osuji (Voorhees, N.J.) led Bridgeport in scoring, as the each recorded 10 points.
Chris Millender led five Dowling players in double figures with a game-high 25 points, and he also grabbed 10 rebounds for the winners.
The UB men's basketball team will look to snap a three-game losing streak on Thursday night in another ECC road game versus Molloy College. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
