Men's Basketball Sees Four-Game Winning Streak Snapped At St. Anselm
UB Opens 2016 Portion Of Season Schedule With 91-72 Defeat
Manchester, N.H.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to end on Sunday afternoon, as the Purple Knights opened the 2016 portion of this season's schedule with a 91-72 non-conference loss at St. Anselm College. UB is now 5-6 overall, and the host Hawks upped their season record to an impressive 11-1 mark
St. Anselm was red-hot from the field all game long connecting on a season-high 62.1 percent of its shots (36 of 58).
Senior Jesse Jones (Irvington, N.J.)led the Purple Knights with 19 points off the UB bench. Jones was joined in double-digit scoring by classmates Ernest Rouse (Freeport, N.Y.) with 15 points and Muhammed Ahmed (Bronx. N.Y.) with 12 points.
Mike McCahey led four St. Anselm players in double figures with a game-high 24 points.
The Bridgeport men's basketball team returns to East Coast Conference play on Wednesday night in our Nation's Capital at the University of the District of Columbia. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
