Men's Hoops Closes Out Non-Conference Slate With 74-56 Win At Goldey-Beacom
UB Now 16-6 Overall And 11-2 In Road Games So Far This Season
Wilmington, Del.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team played its final non-conference game of the 2014-15 on Tuesday night, and the Purple Knights led from wire-to-wire as the posted an impressive 74-56 road win over the host Goldey-Beacom College Lightning. UB is now 16-6 overall, and GBC slips to 8-16 overall. Tuesday's win also raises Bridgeport's season road mark to 11-2.
UB shot the ball well on the night hitting 25-of-51 field goals (49.0%), including going 10-of-20 from behind the three-point arc.
Junior Ernest Rouse (Freeport, N.Y.) led the Purple Knights and all scorer in the game with 23 points, as all six of his field goals were three-pointers, plus he went 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Ernest also had six rebounds on the night.
Rouse was joined in double figures by Eddie Asamoah (Jr., Calgary, Canada) who had 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds, senior Willie Williams III (Norwalk, Con.) had 13 points, and junior Devon Elliott (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was just short of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Chris Gebhart led Goldey-Beacom with 14 points.
