Purple Knights Pick Up 93-81 ECC Road Men's Basketball Win Over Mercy
UB Nov 12-7 Overall And 7-2 In Conference Play
Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball picked up its second win in a row and fifth in its last six games, as the Purple Knights picked up a 93-81 road East Coast Conference victory over the host Mercy College Mavericks on Saturday afternoon. Bridgeport is now 12-7 overall and 7-2 in conference play. Mercy falls to 2-17 overall and 1-8 in the ECC.
Senior William Harrison (Bronx, N.Y.) led four UB players in double-figure scoring with a game-high 24 points, and he also added seven rebounds for the winners. Harrison was joined in double digits by junior Darian David (Bronx. N.Y.) with 20 points, junior Hakeem Rodriguez (Queensbridge, N.Y.) with 14 points, and senior Dante Menter (Brooklyn, N.Y.) played a strong game off the Purple Knights' bench with 13 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Junior Lloyd Antoine (Brooklyn, N.Y.) fell just shy of a double-double for UB scoring nine points and grabbing eight rebounds.
Colin Senior led the Mavericks with 22 points.
Saturday's game was a foul-filled affair, as both teams were whistled for a combined 55 infractions, and a total of 66 free throws were shot on the day.
The UB men are back in action at Hubbell Gym on Wednesday night when the Purple Knights open a two-game homestand with a contest versus Dowling College. Action begins in the Park City at 7:00 p.m.
