Men's Hoops Grabs 62-55 Road Win Over St. Thomas Aquinas
Willaim Harrison Ledas Purple Knights With Game-High 17 Points
Sparkill, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team raised its overall record to 11-7 and its East Coast Conference mark to 6-2 with a hard-fought 62-55 road win over the host St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans on Wednesday night. With the loss, STAC is now 7-10 overall and 3-5 in the ECC.
Senior William Harrison (Bronx, N.Y.) led UB in the win with 17 points, and he also contributed seven rebounds. Juniors Hakeem Rodriguez (Queensbridge, N.Y.) with 13 points and Darian David (Bronx, N.Y.) with 12 points also reached double-figure scoring for the Purple Knights. David also had seven steals and five rebounds for the winners. Junior Omari Howard (Bronx, N.Y.) led UB in rebounding grabbing eight boards.
Wednesday's game was a sloppy affair with St. Thomas Aquinas turning the ball over 25 times, and Bridgeport committed 20 miscues on the night.
James Okimey led STAC in scoring with 11 points.
The Bridgeport men return to the court on Saturday action afternoon when they travel to at Mercy College. Game time in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. is set for 3:00 p.m.
