Post Trips Men's Basketball 79-78 On Late Three-Point Shot
Defeat Snaps Purple Knights' Three-Game Winning Streak
Waterbury, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team saw its three-game winning streak snapped on Monday night, as the Purple Knights dropped a tight 79-78 non-conference decision to the host Post University Eagles. UB is now 6-5 overall, and the win ups the Eagles' overall mark to 3-7. Monday night's game was a see-saw affair throughout that featured 12 ties.
With the game tied 76-76, Bridgeport's Darian David (Bronx, N.Y.) gave his team a two-point lead (78-76) when he hit a jumper with 39 seconds to play. After a timeout, Post would hit what proved to be the game-winning hoop when Zach Krischner connected on a three-point shot with 14 seconds play. UB had two shots by junior Lloyd Antoine (Brooklyn, N.Y.) to grab a lead just before the final buzzer, but both shots fell off the rim.
David led all scorers in the contest with 29 points, 20 of which came in the second half. Darian hit 5-of-7 three-point shots on the night. Antoine contributed 18 points and nine rebounds for the Purple Knights.

The Purple Knights now take a 10-day break before the team returns to the court at Southern Connecticut State University on Friday, December 30. Game time in New Haven is set for 4:00 p.m.
