UB Men Roll Past Molloy, 88-67
Purple Knights Have Now Won Four In A Row And Nine Of Their Last 10 Games
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team never trailed in the game, as the Purple Knights cruised to their fourth straight win and ninth victory in their last 10 games with an 88-67 home East Coast Conference triumph over the Molloy College Lions on Saturday afternoon. Bridgeport is now 14-8 overall and 14-3 in conference play. Molloy falls to 8-14 overall and 8-9 in the ECC.
Junior Josh Martin (Philadelphia, Pa.) led four Bridgeport players in double-figure scoring with 19 points in only 21 minutes played. Martin was joined in double digits by graduate student Dave Boykin (White Plains, N.Y.) with 18 points and senior Msoo Ikyaator (Nigeria, West Africa) and junior Donte Mentor (Brooklyn, NY), who each contributed 11 points for the Purple Knights. Boykin also added eight assists with no turnovers and added a steal for the winners.
Molloy's John Petrucelli led all scorers and rebounders in the game with 34 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bridgeport men will look to run their winning streak to five games on Wednesday night at New York Tech. Game time on Long Island is set for 7:00 p.m.
