Men's Basketball Cruises To 100-65 Win At Mercy College
UB Now 7-2 In Conference Play
Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.-For the second consecutive contest, the University of Bridgeport men's basketball team tallied a single-game, season-high in points as the Purple Knights cruised to a 100-65 East Coast Conference road win over the Mercy College Mavericks on Saturday afternoon in Westchester County. With the win, UB is now an even 7-7 overall and 7-2 in conference play. The loss keeps Mercy winless on the season at 0-14 overall and 0-9 in the ECC.
All 11 players that saw action for Bridgeport scored in the win led by junior Josh Martin (Philadelphia, Pa.) who netted a game-high 15 points and also dished out six assists. Martin was joined in double figures by five teammates, graduate student Dave Boykin (White Plains, N.Y.) and senior Msoo Ikyaator (Nigeria, West Africa), each scored 14 points, junior Moyan Henry (Bridgeport, Conn.) had a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in only 17 minutes played, senior Jermaine Washington (Philadelphia, Pa.) netted 11 points and junior Donte Mentor (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed 10 points.
Manny Garcia led three Mercy players in double figures with 13 points.
Bridgeport will look to extend its winning streak to three games on Wednesday night at Molloy College. Game time is 8:00 p.m.
