HARTFORD, Conn. – In their final game of the season, the University of Bridgeport's baseball team was defeated by Southern Connecticut State on Tuesday by a score of 5-2 at the Yard Goats' Dunkin' Park.
Junior first baseman Jeremy Rodrigues led the UB offense with a 2-for-4 effort while six other Purple Knights notched one hit apiece.
Rodrigues finishes the season as UB's top hitter in batting average (.333), RBIs (28), slugging (.695), and home runs (10).
Anthony Pascale knocked in UB's second run on Tuesday courtesy of an RBI triple in the sixth. UB had tied the game, 2-2, at the time.
Pascale finishes the season ranked second in the CACC in triples (4) this season. It is also the most triples hit by a Purple Knight since 2021.
Freshman Vincenzo Bruno pitched well in his third start of the season. The right-hander allowed just one earned run and struck out six across 4.2 innings of work.
UB's four pitchers in the game allowed just three earned runs on seven hits across eight innings.
