Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team fell to the Southern New Hampshire Penmen, 7-3, in non-conference action in soggy Seaside Park on Tuesday afternoon. UB is 16-24 overall, and SNHU is 29-7 after its eleventh straight victory.
The Purple Knights scored all their runs in the ninth inning on an RBI single by Alex Rauso (Grad., Trumbull, Conn.) , who had two hits on the day, an error and a balk.
Anthony Martino (West Sayville, N.Y.) pitched well for the Purple Knights, but took the loss, as he worked eight innings in which he allowed eight hits, seven runs (only three earned with 10 strikeouts and three walks.
The UB baseball team is right back in action tomorrow at 3:30 pm at home when the team hosts Dominican (N.Y.) College.
