UB Right Back In Action At 2:00 PM On Thursday Versus Molloy In Seaside Park
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team saw its two-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday afternoon is Seaside Park, as the visiting Southern Connecticut State University Owls blanked the Purple Knights, 4-0, in non-conference play. UB is now 14-18 on the season, and SCSU ups its overall record to 20-6.
The Purple Knights were limited to six singles on the day, two coming off the bat of freshman Jeremy Rodrigues (Monroe, Conn.).
Bridgeport outhit the Owls, 6-4, on the day, but the visitors benefited from six walks and two hit batters plus a couple of Purple Knights miscues on the afternoon.
SCSU plated three runs in the fifth inning and scored an insurance marker in the eighth.
Up next, the UB baseball team will open a key ECC series on Thursday afternoon versus Molloy College with a single game now set for a 2:00 p.m. start.
