West Haven, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team took the short trip up I-95 to the University of New Haven on Wednesday afternoon, and the host Chargers defeated the Purple Knights, 10-2. UB is now 9-14 overall so far in 2022, and UNH ups its season mark to 12-7.
Sophomore Jake Woods (Stony Brook, N.Y.) led the Bridgeport offense with three hits, and freshman Jeremy Rodrigues (Monroe, Conn.) added two base knocks for the Purple Knights.
Sophomore Anthony Pascale (Stony Brook, N.Y.) had the lone RBI for UB on the afternoon.
Up next, the Bridgeport baseball team returns to East Coast Conference play, as the Purple Knights take the long trip to Buffalo, New York to open a three-game weekend series against the D'Youville College Saints on Friday afternoon with a single game at 3:00 p.m.
