Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team suffered its first shutout of the 2016 season on Tuesday afternoon at home, as nine different Wilmington (Del.) University pitchers limited the Purple Knights to only four hits on the day, as the visiting Wildcats posted a 5-0 non-conference win at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. UB is now 17-13-1, and Wilmington raises its overall mark to 11-20.
Getting base hits for Bridgeport on Tuesday were Alec Jannotta (Sr., Branford, Conn.) Bobby Schryver (So., Ansonia, Conn.), Mark Hirschbeck (Fr., Trumbull, Conn.) and Mark Komarmi (So., Bridgeport, Conn.).
The UB baseball team is back in action tomorrow afternoon at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.
