Baseball Falls In Non-Conference Action To Rollins, 9-5
Squad Will Open Final ECC Series Of 2014 At Home Versus LIU Post On Friday Night At 7:00 PM
Waltham, Mass.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team dropped its second consecutive non-conference game on a windy Thursday afternoon in Massachusetts, as the Purple Knights fell to the Rolling College Tars, 9-5, in a neutral site game hosted by Bentley University. Rollins led 4-0 after the first inning and 7-1 after two inning of play on the way to the victory. UB is now 14-22-1 overall, and the Tars are 15-25.
Freshman Dylan Steigerwald (Holbrook, N.Y.), sophomore Alec Jannotta (Branford, Conn.) and junior Mike Miniter (Branford, Conn.), each had two hits for Bridgeport, and Steigerwald also drove in a run.
Next up for the UB baseball team is a return to East Coast Conference play on Friday night at home versus LIU Post at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. The Purple Knights will open their final conference series of 2014 at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night.
