STAC Bangs Out 16 Hits In 9-2 ECC Baseball Win Over Purple Knights
Same Two Teams Will Meet In 12 Noon Doubleheader On Saturday

Bridgeport, Conn.-The St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans banged out a total of 16 hits against three University of Bridgeport pitchers and scored the final seven runs of the game to notch a 9-2 East Coast Conference win over the Purple Knights at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Friday afternoon.
The Spartans scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but UB scored single runs in the second and third innings to tie things up. Sophomore John Ascenzia (West Haven, Conn.) and senior Eric Schlitter (Guilford, Conn.) drove in the Bridgeport runs.
Senior Matt Ranaudo (Stratford, Conn.) had two hits on the day for UB.
The same two teams will meet in tomorrow at 12 noon in a doubleheader hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas at Provident Bank Park.
