Cross Country Teams Take Fourth Place At Father W. Laurence O’Neil Invitational
Santos First UB Woman Across The Line; Lubrano Tops Men's Runners
Fairfield, Conn.-Both the University of Bridgeport men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Father W. Laurence O'Neil Invitational hosted by Fairfield University on Saturday morning, and both squads finished in fourth place on the day.
For the UB women, graduate student Sarah Santos (Norwalk, Conn.) had an outstanding day, as she finished as the top Division II runner in the race crossing the finish line with a time of 20:37 over the 5K course. Her time was good enough for an eleventh place scoring finish and a twelfth place overall.
On the men's side, junior Rich Lubrano (Dix Hills, N.Y.) was the top UB finisher completing the 8K course in a time of 31:10 which was good enough for a 16th scoring place and 24th overall finish.
The Bridgeport cross country teams are back in action next Sunday, October 23rd at the East Coast Conference Championship Meet hosted by C.W. Post.
