Cross Country Teams Compete At Fairfield's Father Leeber Invitational
Both Teams Take Ninth Place
Fairfield, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's and women's cross country competed in their second races of the 2011 season on Saturday morning, and both squads took ninth place at the 35th Annual Father Leeber Invitational hosted by Fairfield University.
On the women's side, graduate student Sarah Santos (Norwalk, Conn.) was the Purple Knights' top finisher taking the 33rd scoring place on the day, as she covered the 5K course in a time of 20:49.66.
On the men's side, junior Rich Lubrano (Dix Hills, N.Y.) was the first UB runner across the finish line on the 8K course with a time of 32:57 which was good for the 55th scoring place.
The Bridgeport women will be back in action next Saturday at the St. Joseph's College Invitational in Hartford, Connecticut. The UB men will return to racing on October 7th in a dual meet at Post University.
