Women's Cross Country Takes Second Place In Post Tri-Meet
Sarah Santos Wins Race In A Time Of 23:01.
Waterbury, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's cross team took second place in tri-meet hosted by Post University on Saturday.
The host Eagles won the event with 28 points, followed by UB with 34 points, and Mitchell College was third with 65 points.
Bridgeport graduate student Sarah Santos (Norwalk, Conn.) won Saturday's event covering the course in a time of 23:01, as she outdistanced the second place finisher by one minute and 11 seconds.
Four other UB runner took sports on the top-ten, as junior Sandra Schmitz (Bruehl, Germany) was sixth in a time of 25:57, senior Anna Krasnowska (Kedzierzyn-Kozie, Poland) was eighth in a time of 26:44, junior Patrycja Zera (Zabki, Poland) was ninth in a time of 25:53 and freshman Colleen Preusse (Greenwich, Conn.) took tenth place in a time of 26:58.
The Bridgeport men's and women's cross country will next be in action on Wednesday afternoon at Post University.
