Women Volleyball’s Duo Takes Home CACC Weekly Honors
Jaden Drollinger was named CACC Setter of the Week and Hailey Jessen was named CACC Rookie of the Week.
New Haven, Conn. – University of Bridgeport women's volleyball had two members of the program recognized by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Monday afternoon. Jaden Drollinger (Jr., Queens Creek, Ariz.) was named CACC Setter of the Week for the fourth time this season and Hailey Jessen (Fr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) received CACC Rookie of the Week honors for an amazing seventh week this year.
Jaden Drollinger had another fantastic week, accumulating 138 assists where she averaged 10.62 assists per set across the three wins to wrap up the regular season. Drollinger also averaged an important 1.92 digs per set while contributing nine kills, attacking with a .273 hitting percentage and adding seven aces on the week.
Hailey Jessen continues to be a force within the CACC, racking up 61 kills last week, averaging 4.69 kills per set and swinging with a .252 hitting percentage. Assisting in defense as well, the outside hitter registered one solo block and five assisted blocks, averaging .46 per set across the three wins.
Joshua Dennis (Sr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) of men's basketball and Stephanie McBride (Sr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) of women's basketball were named to this week's CACC Honor Roll for their performances in the opening week of the basketball season.
Up next for UB women's volleyball, the North's top seed Purple Knights take on the South's number four seeded Georgian Court University in the CACC Quarterfinals on Tuesday, November 14th at 6:00 p.m. in the Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium.
