UB Volleyball Sees Its Eight-Match Winning Streak Snapped At Daemen
Purple Knights Head Into Friday's Regular Season Finale At 16-9 Overall And 8-3 In THe ECC
Amherst, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team saw its eight-match winning streak snapped on Sunday, as the Purple Knights fell in straight sets at East Coast Conference regular season champion, Daemen College, 14-25, 15-25, 16-25. UB is now 16-9 overall and 8-3 in the ECC. The host Wildcats finish their regular season conference schedule undefeated at 12-0 and are now 19-7 overall.
Senior Emily Burford (Albuquerque, N.M.) led the Purple Knights with a match-high 11 kills.
Freshman setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Az.) had 18 assists and eight digs in the match, and graduate student Amanda Hennemann (Nova Petropolis, Brazil) led the Bridgeport defense with 11 digs.
Up next, the UB volleyball team will close out its 2021 regular season schedule at home on Friday, November 12 with a Senior Night match against Mercy College. First serve in Hubbell Gym is set for 7:00 p.m.
