Bridgeport Women's Volleyball Stumbles Versus Adelphi
Purple Knights Now 3-3 On The Young Season After Wednesday's Home Loss
Bridgeport, Conn.-Senior Emily Burford (Albuquerque, N.M.) finished with a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs, and freshman setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Az.) also had a double-double with 34 assists and 10 digs, but it was not enough for the University of Bridgeport volleyball team on Wednesday evening, as the Purple Knights fell in straight sets to the visiting Adelphi University Panthers, 20-25, 18-25, 21-25, in non-conference action in Hubbell Gym.
With the loss, UB now stands at an even 3-3 on the season. Adelphi ups its season mark to 7-2.
Senior Amanda Keller (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) also played well for Bridgeport hitting .750 on the night, as she notched 9 kills on 17 attacks without an error. Keller also chipped in four block assists.
Freshman Paola Hernandez (Bayamon, P.R.) also reached double-digit kills with 10 in the loss.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball team travels to Albany, N.Y to take on the Golden Knights of the College of St. Rose on Friday night. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.
