Flushing, N.Y.-A week away from match play did not prove to be a good formula for the University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team, as the Purple Knights fell in straight sets to the host Queens (N.Y.) College Knights in New York City on a rainy Thursday night, 14-25, 23-25, 29-31. UB is now 11-10 overall and 8-2 in East Coast Conference play. With the win, Queens is now 7-17 overall and 3-8 in the ECC.
Freshman Claire Anderson (Oak Harbor, Wash.) led the Bridgeport offense with 11 kills, and she was joined in double-digit kills by senior Sara Cruz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) with 10.
