Zhejiang University of China Tops UB Women's Volleyball In A See-Saw Contest, 3-2
Same Two Teams Will Close Out Their International Exhibition Series On Tuesday, September 24
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team lost a see-saw exhibition match against Zhejiang University of China, 3-2, on Thursday night. UB fell by scores of 23-25, 25-14, 24-26, 25-21, 14-16.
Junior Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) led three UB players in double figure kills with 18 on the night. Junior Ying Shen (Nanjing, China) chipped in 15 kills, and sophomore Sarah Rosa (Itajuba, Brazil) added 14 kills for the Purple Knights. Junior Jade Zhao (Huhhot, China) fell just shy of double-digit kills with nine.
As a team, UB had 13 blocks on the night led by Zhao and junior Larissa Oliveira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), who each had seven blocks (1 solo and six block assists).
The same two teams will close out the international exhibition series in Bridgeport's Hubbell Gym on Tuesday, September 24 with a 7:00 p.m. contest.
