Purple Knights Take Six First Places On Day Two Of 2019 Metro Conference Championship Meet
Both Squads Sit In Fourth Place After Two Days Of Action
Piscataway, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport men's and women's swimming teams won six of 13 events in the pool on day two of the 2019 Metropolitan Collegiate Conference Championship on Saturday evening in Piscataway, New Jersey. Both UB squads sit in fourth place in the total team standings.
UB went one-two in the women's 400 IM on Saturday, as senior Clara Mico Gonzalez (Madrid, Spain) took first place just ahead of freshman teammate Diana Naglic (Muta, Slovenia).
Senior captain Nina Stegu (Ljublijana, Slovenia) won the women's 200 Free and in the same event for men, junior Erik Hren (Maribor, Slovenia) took home yet another gold medal.
In the women's 100 Breaststroke Mariia Rezhylo (Kiev, Urkraine) continue her undefeated season in that event topping the podium, and the women and men's 800 Free Relay Teams took home UB's final first places on Saturday.
Action wraps up on Sunday in the 2019 Metropolitan Collegiate Conference Championship.
