Swim Teams Stay Strong At 2015 Metropolitan Conference Championship Meet
Women In Second Place And Men In Third Heading Into Competition's Final Day On Sunday
Piscataway, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport men's and women's swimming teams remained in the same place they began the day after day two at the 2015 Metropolitan Conference Championship Meet taking place in the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center on the campus of Rutgers University. The UB men sit in third place, and the UB women are in second place heading into the final day of action in the three-day event on Sunday
In Saturday's men's action, the Purple Knights won 200 IM Relay and the 800 Free Relay, and senior Didac Matsuyama (Barcelona, Spain) won the 100-yard Butterfly (48.62) and classmate Ruben Gimenez (Burgos, Spain) won the 100-yard Freestyle (54.07) his second top individual finish in as many days. In that same event, junior Ivan Capan (Zagreb, Croatia) took second place just shy of Gimenez at 54.08.
For the UB women, Annagrazia Bonsanti won her second individual event of the championships taking first place in the 200-yard Freestyle in a time of 1:52.10.
