Swim Teams Take Number Two In The Nation On Fall 2013 CSCAA NCAA Division II Team Scholar All-America Team List
Women Post 3.69 G.P.A. And Men Check In With A 3.45 Grade Point Average
Bridgeport, Conn.-The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced its Fall 2013 NCAA Division II Team Scholar All-America Team list supported by Nike, and the University of Bridgeport women's and men's programs each checked in at number two in the nation. The UB women compiled an impressive 3.69 grade point average as a team to finished second behind Lyn University at a g.p.a. of 3.71. The Bridgeport men posted a 3.45 grade point average to finish behind Urbana University at a g.p.a. of 3.81.
This is the nineteenth straight semester, the UB women's swimming squad has received a CSCAA Team Scholar All-America Award. The Purple Knight women have earned this prestigious academic award every semester since the team became a varsity program.
The Team Scholar All-American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester/term and in the semester/term of the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America is the oldest professional organization of college coaches in America. The CSCAA is dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
