Bridgeport Swimmers Shine In The Pool And In The Classroom
Both The Men's And Women's Teams Earn CSCAA All-Academic Accolades
Bridgeport, Conn.- As the University of Bridgeport men's swimming team competes at this week's 2013 NCAA Division II National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, both the UB men's and women's swimming teams have earned recognition by College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for academic excellence during the 2012 Fall Semester, as both groups were named CSCAA All-Academic Teams.
The Bridgeport women posted a 3.60 grade point average during the 2012 fall semester to rank second amongst the Division II women's teams who met the minimum requirement 3.00 G.P.A. to earn Team All-Academic Honors. This is the seventeenth consecutive semester that the UB women have received this academic honor from the CSCAA.
The UB men checked in at number 11 in the nation with a 3.14 GPA amongst the Division II men's teams who met the minimum requirement 3.00 G.P.A. The Purple Knights men have earned academic honors in three straight semesters, and five of their last seven.
