Women's Swimming Takes Third Place At College of Wooster Invitational
Purple Knights Back In Action At Home This Saturday Afternoon
Wooster, Ohio-The University of Bridgeport women's swimming team finished in third place at this weekend's College of Wooster Invitational in Wooster, Ohio. The Purple Knights totaled 991.5 points over the three-day event. Edinboro University topped the women's team standings with 1280.5 points and Gannon University was second with 1272.5 points
Freshman Sonia Arau (Barcelona, Spain) won the women's 200-yard Backstroke on Saturday with a time of 2:02.87 (NCAA "B" Qualifying Time). Arau won three individual events at the 2010 Wooster Invitational.
Also on Saturday freshman Karen Barboza (Chula Vista, Calif.), 2:07.72 in the 200-yard Backstroke, and sophomore Noufissa Chbihi (North Haven, Conn.), 2:08.28) in the 200-yard Butterfly, turned in NCAA "B" Qualifying times.
The Purple Knights will be back in the pool at home on Saturday afternoon (December 11) when they host Post University in the Wheeler Recreation Center Natatorium. Action gets underway at 1:00 p.m.
