Bio
Mark has both an Undergraduate Degree (Sport Science) and a Masters Degree (Sport Psychology) from the University of Wales, Bangor. He is currently working towards an MBA in Business Management from the University of Bridgeport.
While at the University of Wales, Bangor, Mark was a member of
the University First XI that reached two consecutive National Welsh
Universities Cup Finals. During this time Mark began coaching at
the Bobby Charlton International Soccer & Sports Academy which
has seen numerous professional players come through its ranks, the
most famous being David Beckham. The Bobby Charlton ISSA enabled
Mark to travel all over the UK and Norway delivering coaching
sessions, as well as being a senior coach at their annual
residential camp held in the North of England.
After two years with Bobby Charlton’s, Mark joined the
coaching staff at the then EPL team Bolton Wanderers International
Academy and led a team of coaches delivering sessions in Majorca,
Spain.
Moving to San Antonio, TX in 2008, Mark began as a head coach for
SA United Soccer Club. In 2010 Mark was awarded the position of
Senior Program which entailed overseeing all of the High School
aged boys and girls teams within the club as well as educating
players and parents on the process of getting recruited by college
programs as well as liaising between these players and college
coaching.
In 2012 Mark became the Girls Technical Director for SA United,
overseeing all of their girls teams from U11-U19, putting together
a program of development specifically for their female players.
As well as his club work Mark was also a volunteer Assistant Coach with St Edward's University Women’s team during the 2013 Spring and fall seasons which saw the Hilltoppers win the Heartland Regular Season and Conference Championship and go on to reach the NCAA Elite Eight with a record of 18-1-3.
After spending the 2014 spring season as the Director of Youth Soccer at the Reforma Athletic Club in Mexico City, Mexico, Mark joined the University of Bridgeport Women’s Program in the summer of 2014. His first season with the Lady Purple Knights saw them reach the Conference Final and the second round of the NCAA National Tournament.
