Wilmington, Del.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team stayed unbeaten in conference play at 4-0-0 and ran its unbeaten streak to five matches and its winning streak to two with a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference triumph on Saturday afternoon over the host Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College. With the win, the Purple Knights up their over record to 5-3-1. GBC is now 3-6-0 overall and 2-3-0 on the CACC.
Junior Leigh-Ann Ramsay (Bronx. N.Y.) header home the only goal of match with just under nine minutes to play in the first half off a lovely feed from sophomore Angelina LoFranco (Greenacres, Fla.) found her at the back post. Ramsay has now scored two goals so far this season.
The Purple Knights dominated the run of play on Saturday, as they outshot the hosts, 14-4, and finished with a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
UB sophomore goalkeeper Clara Karlsson (Örnsköldsvik, Sweden) earned her fourth clean sheet of the 2022 season on Saturday, as she made one save to raise her season record to 5-0-1.
Up next, the UB women's soccer team returns to Knights Field on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m., as the Purple Knights will look to continue their roll when they host the Cougars of Caldwell University in a CACC contest.
