Bridgeport, Conn.-Sophomore Evelyn Hammer (Littleton, Colo.) netted her team-best fifth goal of the season on a penalty kick after she was fouled in the box just 2::18 into the second half for the only tally of the match, as the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team posted a 1-0 win over the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans on Homecoming and Senior Day at UB. With the victory, the Purple Knights are now 7-6-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the East Coast Conference. St. Thomas Aquinas slips to 4-8-0 overall and 2-5-0 in the ECC.
UB dominated play on the offensive side of the ball outshooting STAC, 20-5, over the 90 minutes.
Purple Knights' freshman goalkeeper Clara Karlsson (Umea, Sweden) made one save to notch her third clean sheet of 2021. Colleen Stevens made nine stops for the Spartans.
