UB Women's Soccer Checks In At Number Seven in The Nation In 2017 NCAA Division II Preseason Poll
Team Set Top Open Serason On Friday, September 1st
Kansas City. Mo.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, under the direction of nineteenth-year head coach Magnus Nilerud, is ranked number seven in the 2017 preseason national NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Top-25 Poll released by the United Soccer Coaches, formally the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), on August 3.
The UB women's soccer program is coming off a successful 2016 campaign that saw the Purple Knights post an 18-4-0 overall record and capture the program's second straight NCAA Division II East Regional crown. Bridgeport also won the East Coast Conference regular season and conference tournament titles for the second consecutive season in 2016.
The Purple Knights will open their 2017 schedule on Friday, September 1 when they face Southern New Hampshire University at 3:30 p.m. to open at the American International College Women's Soccer Classic in Springfield. Mass.
Bridgeport will play eight home matches and nine contests on the road during the 2017 campaign. This season the team will take a trip to California to face Cal State Monterey Bay on September 9 and San Francisco State University on September 11.
UB will open its 2017 East Coast Conference slate at LIU Post on Wednesday, September 14.
