Women's Soccer's Nicola Worthington Earns Second Straight NSCAA Scholar All-American Award
Team Captain Excelled Both On The Field And in The Classroom
Kansas City, Mo.-The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recognizes select collegiate student-athletes with NSCAA Scholar All-Americans honors for their dual accomplishments on the field and in the classroom.
To be named to a Scholar All-America Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; and be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member.
University of Bridgeport senior, midfielder Nicola Worthington (Chorley, England) was named First Team NSCAA NCAA Division II Scholar All-America for the second straight season with her 2016 selection. Worthington also was named a First Team All-American for her playing abilities by the same organization earlier this month.
Nic is a Health Science major with a 3.60 grade point average. In November, Worthington was named a Second Team National Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors Association of America (CoSIDA).
