Six UB Standouts Earn 2016 D2CAA Women's Soccer All-East Region First Team Honors

Philadelphia, Pa.-Six members of the 2016 University of Bridgeport women's soccer team have earned spots on the Division 2 Conference Commissioner's Association First Team All-East Region Squad.

Earning 2016 First Team D2CAA All-East Region accolades are forwards: Idoia Agirre (Grad., Legazpi, Spain) and Shannon Colligan (Sr., Greenwich, Conn.), midfielders: seniors Hanne Neby (Furnes, Norway) and Nicola Worthington (Chorley, England), defender: Flo Gamby (Sr., Goffs Oak, England) plus sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Wendelius (Lindingo, Sweden).

The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, winners of 14 matches in a row with a 17-3-0 overall record) have reached the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament Third Round for the second consecutive season and will face Adelphi University at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in a match that will be play at West Chester (Pa.) University.
