Women's Soccer's Tabea Rauschenberger Earns Second Team National 2014 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Capital One Academic All-America Honors
Selection Marks The Third Straight Season A UB Women's Soccer Student-Athlete Has Been Named To The National Team
Austin, Texas-University of Bridgeport sophomore women's soccer standout Tabea Rauschenberger (Mühlacker, Germany) has been named to the 2014 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Capital One National Academic All-America Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for her outstanding efforts in the classroom and on the playing field. Rauschenberger is a Medical Laboratory Science major at Bridgeport with a 3.95 cumulative grade point average.
After being named the East Coast Conference Rookie and Defensive Player of the Year in 2013, Tabea had a solid second season in a UB uniform leading the team in assists with eight and scoring two goals to amass 12 total points which tied her for third on the Purple Knights' in scoring.
Rauschenberger's selection also marks the third consecutive season that a member of the University of Bridgeport women's soccer program has earned national Capital One Academic All-America honors, as UB's Julia Hansson earned Second Team National accolades in 2012 and was a First Team pick last year.
The Capital One Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2014-15 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
