Three Purple Knights Garner 2013 Daktronics Women's Soccer First Team All-East Region Honors
Julia Hansson, Danielle Puddefoot and Tabea Rauschenberger Add To Postseason Accolades
Bridgeport, Conn.-Three members of the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, goalkeeper Julia Hansson (Sr., Tocksfors, Sweden) forward Danielle Puddefoot (Jr., Slough, England) and defender Tabea Rauschenberger (Fr., Mühlacker, Germany) have been selected as 2013 Daktronics Inc. All-East Region performers in voting conducted among sports information directors at NCAA Division II institutions that are members of the Central Atlantic Collegiate, East Coast and Northeast 10 Conferences.
Hansson was selected as this season's East Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year as well as earning First Team All-ECC accolades. Puddefoot, who led UB in scoring with 30 points on 13 goals and four assists, was also a First Team All-Conference pick, and Rauschenberger earned ECC Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year recognition, as well as a spot on the All-Conference First Team
The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, which won both the ECC regular season and championship tournament titles, completed the season with an 18-3-0 overall record. UB also advanced to the Second Round of the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship Tournament, as the squad made its sixth NCAA trip in the last seven years.
