Senior Katie Stanley Named Second Team NSCAA All-America
Five UB Women's Soccer Standouts Selected To NSCAA All-East Region Squad
Bridgeport, Conn.-University of Bridgeport women's soccer midfielder Katie Stanley, a senior from Oxford, England, has been named as a Second Team 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division II All-America.
Five members of the 2011 University of Bridgeport women's soccer team were also selected to the NSCAA All-East Region team.
Earning 2011 First Team NSCAA All-East region honors were Stanley, senior forward Kasey Kenny (Staten Island, N.Y.), senior defender Marie Pettersson (Amal, Sweden) and sophomore goalkeeper Julia Hansson (Tocksfors, Sweden).
Senior defender Danielle Weir (Bo'ness, Scotland) was selected to the 2011 Second Team NSCAA All-East Region squad.
The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, which was ranked number one in the nation for six weeks during the regular season, made its fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament in 2011. The Purple Knights completed the season with a 16-0-2 overall record.
