Women's Soccer Drops 2-1 Non-Conference Decision At Stonehill
Loss Sanps UB's Five-Match Unbeaten Streak
Easton, Mass.-The host Stonehill College Skyhawks scored two goals in the first 24:14 of the match and never looked back, as they posted a 2-1 non-conference women's soccer win over the University of Bridgeport on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, Bridgeport is now 7-3-1, and the defeat snaps a five-match unbeaten streak for the Purple Knights. Stonehill ups its overall record to 8-5-1.
UB's only goal at Stonehill came from sophomore Asia Pulse (New Haven, Conn.) with just over five minutes to play. Pulse scored her second goal of the 2010 season off an assist from junior Marie Pettersson (Amal, Sweden).
Bridgeport goalkeeper Julie Colley (JR, Harlow, England) made nine saves for the Purple Knights.
UB is back in action this Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. when they host Molloy College in an East Coast Conference match. This weekend is also soccer alumni weekend in celebration of 25 years of Bridgeport women's soccer.
