Hinriksdottir's goal early in second half lifts UB to second win of 2010

Bridgeport, Conn.-Senior Rakel Hinriksdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) headed home a flick from junior Danielle Weir (Bo'Ness, Scotland) just over four minutes into the second half for the only goal of the match, as the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team blanked the St. Anselm College Hawks in the Purple Knights' 2010 home opener. With the victory, Bridgeport is now 2-1-0 on the season. Tuesday's contest was the season opener for St. Anselm.

Bridgeport dominated play during the entire tilt outshooting the Hawks, 21-3, on the night.
St. A's goalkeeper Jacqueline Cooney kept her team in the match by making nine saves.
UB freshman goalkeeper Julia Hansson (Tocksfors, Sweden) recorded her first shut out of 2010 to get the win for the Purple Knights in net.
Bridgeport heads back out on the road for its next match, as UB will travel to Philadelphia University for a 1:00 p.m. match on Sunday.
