Women's Lacrosse Puts Three on CACC All-Conference Teams
Tara Dimaio and Danielle Kreitler were named to the First Team while Tereza Kreuzova was tabbed to the CACC’s All-Conference Second Team.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In honor of terrific 2024 seasons, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team put three student-athletes on CACC All-Conference Teams on Tuesday. Tara Dimaio and Danielle Kreitler were named to the First Team while Tereza Kreuzova was tabbed to the CACC's All-Conference Second Team.
TARA DIMAIO | #11 Sophomore | Shirley, N.Y.
Dimaio put together one of the best campaigns in the East Region this season. The sophomore led the CACC in caused turnovers this season with 46. She also tied for first in the conference in ground balls with 53. Dimaio's offense was also stellar as she finished the year second on UB in both goals (43) and total points (67). Additionally, she led the Purple and White with 24 assists. Dimaio was named the CACC's Defensive Player of the Week on three occasions this season and tabbed the overall Player of the Week on March 18.
BEST PERFORMANCE: Dimaio's top stat line of the year came against Post when she registered seven goals, two assists and eight caused turnovers.
DANIELLE KREITLER | #3 Graduate Student | Shelton, Conn.
Kreitler led the Purple Knights in scoring this season with 55 goals and 70 total points. Additionally, she ranked first on UB in draw controls with 62. Kreitler's season totals also featured 17 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. She racked up seven games where she scored at least five goals, including a season-high seven tallies in a win over Felician. Kreitler also boasted three games in which she piled up eight points. She also scored the game-winning goal in OT to beat Barton in Bridgeport's season-opener.
BEST PERFORMANCE: Kreitler put forth eight points (6G, 2A), four ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers against Chowan (Feb. 28).
TEREZA KREUZOVA | #16 Senior | Prague, Czech Republic
Kreuzova, who was also a second-teamer last season, did a little bit of everything for the Purple Knights. The Czech finished the season with 24 points (18G, 6A), 40 draw controls, 22 caused turnovers, and 17 ground balls. She registered a season-high three goals and six draw controls in UB's win over Barton and a season-high five caused turnovers in a win over STAC.
BEST PERFORMANCE: Kreuzova racked up three goals and six draw controls in an overtime, season-opening win over Barton.
