Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team was defeated in a Senior Day Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference clash with the Holy Family University Tigers at Knights Field on Saturday afternoon, as HFU topped the Purple Knights, 13-9. UB is now 5-7 overall and an even 4-4 in conference play. The Tigers closes out their 2023 regular season slate at 8-9 overall and finish 7-3 in conference play.
Andrea Basilicato (Grad., Guilford, Conn.) led the Purple Knights' offense on Saturday with four goals and one assist for five points.
Freshman Tara Dimaio (Shirley, N.Y.) had a trick for UB, and Danielle Kreitler (Grad., Shelton, Conn.) had a goal and one assist plus freshman Emily Stuart (Rising Sun, Md.) completed the scoring for Bridgeport with a goal.
Sophomore Jacklyn Mellia (Nanuet, N.Y.) made 13 saves in net for the Purple Knights.
Up next, the UB women's lacrosse team will close out the 2023 regular season with two road games next week beginning with a trip to Dominican New York University on Tuesday for a 4:00 p.m. CACC contest.
