Boca Raton, Fla.-UB's Danielle Kreitler (Grad., Shelton, Conn.) netted the first goal of the game just 56 seconds into play on Thursday, but the host Lyn University Knights, ranked number 14 in the nation, scored the next four goals and never looked back on their way to a 23-4 win over the visiting Purple Knights. UB is now 1-2 on the young 2023 season, and Lynn ups its season mark to 4-1.
Freshman Tara Dimaio (Shirley, N.Y.) had another strong outing for Bridgeport leading the team with two goals and five draw controls.
Graduate student Andrea Basilicato (Guilford, Conn.) put home the Purple Knights' other goal on the afternoon.
Bridgeport goalkeeper Jacklyn Mellia (Nanuet, N.Y.) made 10 saves on the day, as she was under constant pressure facing a total of 33 shots.
